Meet Penny

Our exceptionally maternal girl

Penny is a 2-year-old miniature dachshund and one of the most naturally maternal girls in the Dash Hounds family.

A beautiful Isabella & tan smooth-haired girl, Penny is known for her soft nature, wonderful family temperament and, rather famously, her ability to produce some impressively large litters. She has also become particularly well known for producing beautiful light grey-toned puppies, a characteristic that makes her litters especially distinctive.

But Penny's greatest quality is undoubtedly her nature as a mother. She absolutely adores being a mum and has shown herself to be an exceptionally attentive and devoted mother. She takes naturally to caring for her puppies and has done a truly stellar job raising her litters so far.

Outside of motherhood, Penny is a healthy, active and affectionate family dog. She has a wonderfully gentle personality and loves being part of everyday family life. While she isn't a working dog herself, she brings the qualities we value enormously in a family companion — a soft temperament, a loving nature and an easy-going character.

These qualities are something we are delighted to see reflected in her puppies. Penny consistently produces puppies with that same gentle, affectionate and people-loving temperament, making her a very special part of our breeding programme.

For us, Penny represents exactly what we love about the family dachshund: healthy, happy, affectionate and completely devoted to her people — with a wonderful instinct for motherhood.
